Envelope Magnetic Mould and Deckle // All Sizes // Made to order
The most beautiful envelope shaped mould and deckle you ever seen, right? And magnetic, too!
Now available in FOUR different stationery sizes: A9, A7, A6, A2.
This essential two piece papermaking tool is heavily coated in marine epoxy, each piece (mould and deckle) is buffed to a super smooth finish, and fitted with magnets to gently, but firmly, hold the deckle in place on top of the mould. The basic “student” mould design (flush mount) is truly elevated to a luxurious and long lasting papermaking tool with that heavy epoxy coating and magnetic detail. Pretty brilliant, if I do say so myself… The poly screen is heat shrinkable (with a hair dryer), and very durable. Pulp just slides off of like a dream, and the thick epoxy edge along the mould gives a beautiful crisp deckled edge to each sheet. Such a joy to use, and will likely last a lifetime with proper care.
Designed to make a fully deckled shape which is easily foldable into a pointed flap envelope. Slightly oversized to ensure that those lovely deckled sheets fit perfectly. I recommend using a stiff card (like bristol board or thin plywood) to score with a bone folder. Using bristol board means that you can adjust the size according to your needs (some fibers shrink more than others, of course).
Depending on the specific shrinkage rate of whatever fiber you are using, envelope sizes are roughly as follow:
A9 is 5 3/4 x 8 3/4’’
A7 is 5 3/8 x 7 3/8’’
A6 is 4 7/8 x 6 5/8’’
A2 is 4 1/2 x 5 7/8’’
MADE TO ORDER. Please allow around 8 weeks for production, due to that lengthy (but so worth it) epoxy process. Your patience is much appreciated :)

*If this listing is currently marked as “Sold Out”, please don’t fret. In an attempt to keep my production from getting overwhelmed (resulting in longer leads times for impatient papermakers) I have decided to close orders once I hit a specific threshold. I’ll reopen as soon as I’m caught up. Please feel free to add your email to the waitlist, which helps me know which products are most in demand, and notifies you when orders are open again. Thank you!
