Made to order paper
The best way to source handmade paper is to have it made to order. I’d absolutely love to help.
The paper that you see in my webshop is the current inventory that I have on hand, and ready to ship. I don’t offer my paper as “made to order” through my shop, choosing instead to work through custom orders personally via email (sharestudios@gmail.com). This ensures that I can better regulate incoming orders, and make certain that your special project gets the time and attention to detail that it deserves. I understand the time concerns associated with weddings and special events, so I don't allow my production schedule to get overwhelmed, ensuring that I can better serve my clients. Creating the highest quality and unique handmade paper is my utmost priority.
I make paper as fast as I can, but I'm not a factory, nor do I have a team of employees to help with production. I'm also really into the details, making sure each sheet is high quality and perfect for that special project of yours. Quality papermaking takes time. There's no way around it. Custom orders can take around 4 to 6 weeks (maybe longer) depending on the details, so it's best to get in touch as soon as your project comes to mind, which allows me to work my magic in a decent time frame. Rush orders are super stressful for a one woman papermaking studio, so please plan ahead.
Putting together a custom order is the absolute best option for your special event or project because it allows me to create a super cohesive collection of papers in the exact sizes, weights, colors, and quantities that you need. There are so many sizes available, and I have designed my smaller stationery sheets specifically to fit inside standard envelopes for your convenience.
Below is my updated size and pricing list.

I do not accept wholesale orders (this is majorly labor intensive stuff, friends, and I am but one papermaker).
The anatomy of my handmade papers: In my almost 10 years of papermaking, I have developed my own style of paper focusing on surface quality, strength, and unique decorative effects. I primarily work with the fibers known as Abaca (Manila hemp, the fiber that comes from the stalk of a special type of banana tree, Musa textilis), and Thai Kozo (the inner bark from the Paper Mulberry). I love to use Abaca in all of my basic paper options, because with expert preparation, I can create a super strong, crisp, and smooth paper, perfect for so many applications. A dream surface for calligraphy, the tight knit fibers of Abaca allow a smooth surface for those sharp nibs, and rarely catches. I’ve heard from so many calligraphers that my papers are the absolute best for their artistry. The surface is never linty (like most cotton rag papers out there), and also lends itself beautifully to letterpress, and especially foil, which is super popular right now. The strength of my papers is unmatched, as well. While most handmade papers on the market today are made from cotton rag, I specifically avoid it, since the finished paper is much too soft, uneven, and linty for my liking. Put a cotton envelope through the mail, and you might find a very soft and battered piece of mail once it arrives. Whereas, an expertly prepared Abaca envelope will remain strong, crisp, and beautiful upon arrival. You can tell the quality of an Abaca sheet of paper by the luscious “rattle” you’ll hear if you give it a good shake. The sound will resonate its crisp strength and quality.
Of course, my papermaking journey started with explorations into the Kozo fiber, and it is still so close to my heart. A much more fibrous and textural paper, it is also the most labor intensive. The process starts as the raw inner bark, and will undergo an incredible transformation through cooking, cleaning, beating, and pigmenting. But oh, those lovely long fibers are so beautiful.
In order to keep my one woman production streamlined as much as possible, I try to keep to a basic color collection. I’m currently taking orders for Cream, Bleached Flax, Deep Green, Dusty Blue, Deep Blue, Terracotta, and Merlot. You can see examples of most of these colors in my ready-made webshop (colors may vary slightly between batches), however I do not offer sample packs at this time. It is important to me to streamline my offerings, but the artist in me is always wanting to mix it up a bit, and create gorgeous decorative blends or unique colors. These are typically limited edition batches, but if you see something in my webshop, online, or in my instagram feed that catches your eye, I am usually happy to accommodate. Custom colors will be considered on a case by case basis.
Please send serious inquiries to sharestudios@gmail.com or contact me below.
Made to order paper inquiries, please send me a message with as many specifics as you can think of for your project (size, quantity, color, weight, purpose, printing methods, just to name a few), most importantly any deadlines that you may be working with. A typical custom order takes 4-6 weeks to produce, longer for multiple colors or more involved processes.
