This essential two piece papermaking tool is heavily coated in marine epoxy, each piece (mould and deckle) is buffed to a super smooth finish, and fitted with magnets to gently hold the deckle in place on top of the mould. The basic “student” mould design (flush mount) is truly elevated to a luxurious and long lasting papermaking tool with that magnetic detail. Pretty brilliant, if I do say so myself… The poly screen is heat shrinkable with a hairdryer, and very durable. Pulp just slides off of like a dream, and the thick epoxy edge along the mould gives a beautiful crisp edge to each sheet. Such a joy to use.

Designed to make a fully deckled shape (x2) which is easily foldable into a pointed flap envelope. Slightly oversized to ensure that those lovely deckled sheets fit perfectly. Now available in A7, A6, and A2 sizes. The A7 makes envelopes that are roughly 5 3/8 x 7 3/8’’, the A6 is 4 7/8 x 6 1/2’’ and the A2 is is 4 1/2 x 5 7/8’’ when folded, depending on the specific shrinkage rate of whatever fiber you are using. I recommend using a stiff card cut to size (like bristol board) to score with a bone folder. Using bristol board means that you can adjust the size according to your needs.
